OIL AND GAS LAW

Since 1925 Eagleton & Nicholson has been offering oil and gas legal services.
In 1941, Mr. James Eagleton argued the famous case Pauline Oil & Gas v. Fischer against his brother before the United States Supreme Court and lost. However, James Eagleton then presented the case to the Oklahoma Supreme Court. The Oklahoma Supreme Court, for the first time, recognized the property rights of mineral owners in a decision that remains widely recognized in the oil and gas industry today.

Today, Mr. David Pardue devotes 75% of his practice to oil and gas transactions and litigation. Mr. David Pardue successfully argued the published opinion Jerry Chambers Exploration v. Headington Penn. Corp. That case interpreted the gas-balancing clause of the Joint Operating Agreement.

Mr. Mark Pordos practices oil and gas law in our Chandler office. His understanding of oil and gas law evidenced itself in law school when the University of Oklahoma Law Review published his article, Moser v. United States Steel, A New Approach to the Definition of Unspecified Minerals in an Oil and Gas Lease,@ Volume 37 Number Two, Oklahoma Law Review, 1984.
